Can you have amnesia without brain damage?

I was just wondering , a friend has been in an accident , she has no memory of at all , shr has multipal lacerations to her forearm and head , and the doctors have said that she suffered a blow to the head . But The CT scan results are fine , she is starting to forget everyday things awell ,,, ay help is much appreciated x
