Can I get charged for having my prescription liquid methadone in a syringe?

I got searched and they found needle in my car and are charging me 5th degree felony. Will they win case even though I am prescribed methadone But supposed to take it orally and i told cop i used it to measure out an extra 5mg of my liquid methadone and squirted into my mouth?
